What a fantastic splash of cover these two newly installed Victorian awnings make to Rocks Lane, in London. Alma Cafe is situated in Barnes and serves delicious breakfasts and brunches daily. We have improved the traditional Victorian awnings over time to ensure they can cope with the British weather. For example, we have replaced some of the boxing with a more resistant aluminium casing at the top and back. In the old timber version, the water or snow would rest on the wood and slowly eat into it. We still use hardwood cheeks and a timber front lath and tacker. The arms are designed to suit the exact requirements of the building and the awning is operated with a traditional pull down pole. Their choice of the old traditional Victorian awning, combined with the modern eye catching, vibrant fabric is a great success and I dare anyone to drive past and not do a double take!
