Stylish German Engineering, Somfy Motorisation and Bespoke Installation for a Private Home in Twickenham, South West London
Radiant Blinds & Awnings recently completed another beautiful residential awning installation, this time for a private homeowner in Twickenham, South West London. Our experienced installation team supplied and fitted a premium motorised Markilux MX3 full cassette awning, combining sophisticated contemporary styling with exceptional functionality and effortless operation. The homeowners selected a stunning Anthracite Metallic frame finish, complemented by an elegant cream and beige striped awning fabric. This timeless colour combination creates a sophisticated appearance, enhancing the exterior of the property while providing a practical and comfortable shaded area for outdoor living. The awning was powered by a Somfy motor and operated using a Somfy handheld remote control, allowing the homeowners to extend and retract their new awning effortlessly at the touch of a button. To ensure a secure and professional installation, Radiant Blinds also supplied and fitted two bespoke box spreader brackets, specifically manufactured to accommodate the property’s fixing requirements.
What Is a Markilux MX3 Awning?
The Markilux MX3 is a premium German engineered, full cassette folding arm awning, recognised for its distinctive contemporary design, exceptional quality and innovative engineering. One of the most attractive features of the Markilux MX3 is its elegant, curved cassette design. The smooth, flowing lines create a modern architectural appearance, making it an excellent choice for homeowners who want their awning to complement and enhance their property’s exterior. Unlike open cassette awnings, the MX3 features a fully enclosed cassette that neatly houses the awning fabric and folding arms when retracted. This helps protect the awning components from dirt, rain and general weather exposure when not in use. Manufactured in Germany, the Markilux MX3 combines precision engineering with high-quality materials, making it a popular choice for residential patio and garden shading installations.
Benefits of Installing a Markilux MX3 Motorised Awning
There are numerous advantages to choosing a Markilux MX3 awning for your home:
-
Full cassette protection: The awning fabric and folding arms are enclosed within the cassette when retracted, helping to protect them from the elements.
-
Contemporary design: The distinctive curved cassette provides an elegant, modern appearance that complements a wide range of architectural styles.
-
Excellent sun protection: Creates a comfortable shaded area on patios and terraces, making outdoor spaces more enjoyable during warmer weather.
-
German engineering: Manufactured by Markilux, a leading German awning specialist renowned for premium quality and innovative design.
-
Effortless motorised operation: Electric motorisation makes extending and retracting the awning quick, convenient and simple.
-
Extensive fabric and frame choices: A wide selection of colours, patterns and finishes allows homeowners to personalise their awning.
-
Enhanced outdoor living: Provides a practical extension to the home’s living space, ideal for outdoor dining, entertaining or relaxing in the garden.
Anthracite Metallic Frame with Cream and Beige Striped Fabric
For this recent installation in Twickenham, the homeowners chose a beautiful Anthracite Metallic frame finish, paired with a classic cream and beige striped fabric. Anthracite Metallic is an extremely popular choice for contemporary awnings, offering a sophisticated, understated finish that complements both modern and traditional properties. The cream and beige striped fabric provides a lovely contrast against the darker frame, creating a stylish and welcoming appearance. Striped awning fabrics remain a timeless favourite, adding character and visual interest without overpowering the exterior of the property. The neutral tones chosen for this installation will complement a variety of garden furniture, landscaping and exterior finishes, making the awning a practical and attractive addition to the home.
Somfy Motor and Remote Control for Effortless Operation
To provide the homeowners with maximum convenience, Radiant Blinds installed a high-quality Somfy motor, together with a Somfy handheld remote control handset. Somfy is a globally recognised specialist in motorisation and automation technology, producing reliable systems for electric awnings, blinds and other shading products. With the simple press of a button, the homeowners can extend their Markilux MX3 awning to create a shaded outdoor seating area or retract it neatly into its protective cassette when no longer required. Motorised awnings are particularly beneficial for larger patio installations, removing the need for manual winding and providing smooth, convenient operation. The combination of Markilux German engineering and Somfy motorisation offers a premium shading solution designed for ease of use and everyday comfort.
Two Bespoke Box Spreader Brackets for a Secure Installation
Every property has its own individual installation requirements, and correctly fixing an awning is essential to its performance and long term reliability. For this Twickenham installation, Radiant Blinds supplied and fitted two bespoke box spreader brackets. Box spreader brackets are specially designed fixing brackets that can help distribute the forces imposed by an awning across suitable structural fixing points, rather than concentrating them in one small area. They are particularly useful where the construction of a property or the positioning of suitable structural fixings requires a more specialised installation arrangement. Our experienced team carefully assesses each property before installation, ensuring that the appropriate fixing methods and brackets are selected. At Radiant Blinds, we understand that a premium awning requires more than simply choosing the right product. Professional installation and correctly designed fixing arrangements are equally important.
