Radiant Blinds & Awnings has completed another beautiful residential awning installation this week, fitting a premium motorised Weinor Cassita II awning at a private home in Banstead, Surrey. The homeowner chose a contemporary, German engineered Weinor Cassita II retractable awning, complete with a Somfy motor, Somfy handheld remote control, Somfy Vibro Box vibration sensor and bespoke gutter brackets, specially manufactured to accommodate the property’s fixing requirements. The result is an elegant and practical outdoor shading solution that enhances the appearance of the home while providing effortless shade and comfort on sunny days.
Weinor Cassita II – Contemporary Design Meets German Engineering
The Weinor Cassita II is one of the most popular choices for homeowners looking for a sleek, modern retractable patio awning. Its beautifully streamlined cassette design makes it particularly suitable for contemporary homes, although its understated appearance also complements more traditional properties. When fully retracted, the awning’s fabric and folding arms are enclosed within the cassette, helping protect them from rain, dirt and general weather exposure. Some of the key benefits of the Weinor Cassita II include:
-
Slimline, contemporary design: An elegant cassette that blends beautifully with the exterior of a property.
-
German engineered quality: Precision engineering and high quality components designed for dependable performance.
-
Excellent sun protection: Creates a comfortable shaded area for relaxing, entertaining or outdoor dining.
-
Full cassette protection: Helps protect the awning fabric and folding arms when retracted.
-
Made to measure options: A wide choice of fabric colours and frame finishes to complement individual properties.
-
Motorised convenience: Effortless extension and retraction at the touch of a button.
For this Banstead homeowner, the Weinor Cassita II was an ideal solution, creating a stylish extension of their living space into the garden.
Somfy Motor and Handheld Remote Control – Effortless Awning Operation
To ensure maximum convenience, Radiant Blinds fitted the awning with a high-quality Somfy motor and Somfy handheld remote control handset. Somfy is internationally recognised for its innovative motorisation technology, providing smooth and reliable operation for external awnings and shading systems. With a simple press of a button, the homeowner can extend the awning to provide welcome shade or retract it when sunshine is preferred. Motorised awnings are particularly beneficial for larger patio areas, eliminating the need for manual winding and making everyday operation quick and convenient. The combination of Weinor’s exceptional German engineering and Somfy’s trusted motorisation technology provides a premium shading solution designed for years of enjoyment.
Additional Protection with a Somfy Vibro Box Vibration Sensor
An important feature of this particular installation was the inclusion of a Somfy Vibro Box vibration sensor. This clever piece of technology provides an additional level of protection for the awning by detecting movement and vibration caused by wind. When the sensor detects excessive movement, it sends a signal to retract the awning automatically, helping reduce the risk of damage during gusty conditions. This is particularly useful during the unpredictable British weather, when wind conditions can change quickly. Although vibration sensors provide valuable additional protection, retractable awnings should always be operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s wind limitations and retracted during unsuitable weather conditions. For our Banstead customer, the Somfy Vibro Box provides extra reassurance alongside the convenience of remote controlled operation.
Bespoke Gutter Brackets – Specialist Awning Fixings by Radiant Blinds
One of the features that sets Radiant Blinds apart is our ability to provide bespoke awning brackets and specialist fixing solutions. Not every property has a straightforward fixing position, and the correct installation method is essential to ensure the awning is securely supported. For this project in Banstead, our experienced team arranged for bespoke gutter brackets to be manufactured specifically for the installation. These brackets enable the awning to be positioned appropriately while accommodating the property’s guttering and structural fixing requirements. Our expertise in specialist awning installations means we can provide a range of made to measure fixing solutions, including gutter brackets, spreader brackets, stand off brackets and goalpost support systems. Every installation is carefully assessed to establish a suitable and secure fixing arrangement. This attention to detail is one of the reasons homeowners throughout Surrey and London continue to choose Radiant Blinds for their awning installations.
Transforming Gardens and Patios in Banstead, Surrey
A professionally installed motorised patio awning can completely transform how a garden or terrace is used. Whether enjoying a morning coffee, having lunch outdoors, entertaining family and friends or simply relaxing with a book, a retractable awning provides flexible shade whenever required. A Weinor Cassita II awning can also help reduce direct sunlight entering nearby windows and patio doors, limiting solar heat gain and helping keep adjoining rooms more comfortable during warmer weather. Unlike permanent garden structures, a retractable awning gives homeowners the freedom to enjoy either sunshine or shade at the touch of a button. With more homeowners looking to make the most of their outdoor living spaces, motorised retractable awnings in Banstead and across Surrey are becoming an increasingly attractive home improvement.
